Privacy Policy
WULU is built around local storage and collects only what is needed to keep the product stable and improve the experience.
1. Content you create
The photos, item names, notes, tags, valuations, and usage records you create in WULU are stored on your device by default. Images are uploaded temporarily, as described below, only when you choose to use AI recognition and give consent. When you export a backup or share content, the file is handled by the system location or third-party service you choose.
2. Optional AI image recognition
Before you use cloud recognition for the first time, WULU explains how the data is used and lets you choose “Enter manually” or “Agree & Recognize”. If you agree, your consent is saved on your device, and the original photo and the cut-out image you capture are sent by the app directly to Alibaba Cloud Model Studio (DashScope) to generate archive suggestions. If you enter details manually, no image is uploaded. WULU does not operate a business backend that receives images or recognition results.
Daily recognition limits, subscription checks, and successful-call counts are handled on your device. WULU does not collect random install identifiers, request times, or call logs for these limits. Alibaba Cloud Model Studio processes the requests you submit directly under its own service rules.
3. Optional usage analytics
Analytics is off by default. Only after you turn on “Help Improve WULU” does the app send predefined feature events — for example opening a main area, finishing an archive entry, or completing a backup — to a third-party analytics service.
Analytics data may include the app version, device and operating system information, session and app lifecycle information, approximate region, and a randomly generated app instance ID. WULU does not put photos, item names, notes, or valuations in analytics events.
With your consent, this pseudonymized data may be used to understand feature usage, improve the product, and provide personalized features and recommendations inside WULU. When you turn the option off, the app stops sending new analytics data and no longer updates personalized recommendations from it.
4. Optional crash reports
Crash reporting is also off by default. With your consent, the app may send the crash time, error type, stack trace, app version, and device runtime state to a third-party stability service to help us locate crashes. Reports do not include the items you saved.
5. Third-party services
Alibaba Cloud Model Studio provides cloud AI processing, Google Firebase provides optional analytics and crash reporting, and RevenueCat syncs entitlements when subscriptions are enabled. Data is handled under each service’s own rules. WULU uses data you have consented to only to provide features, improve the product, and make in-app personalized recommendations; it does not use this data for personalized advertising or cross-app tracking.
6. Subscriptions and purchases
In versions with subscriptions enabled, subscriptions and the lifetime purchase are completed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, and entitlements are verified and synced through RevenueCat. The app sends the subscription service an anonymous user ID it generates, product identifiers, purchase and subscription status, and the app and device information needed to complete a transaction. It does not send photos, item archives, notes, or valuations.
You can restore purchases or open subscription management in WULU under Settings → Membership. The subscription service handles the necessary data under its own rules.
7. Backups and iCloud
Full backups are created manually by you under Settings → Data & Backup and are never uploaded automatically. On iOS, if you choose “iCloud Full Backup”, the backup file is saved to the iCloud Drive container of your own Apple ID and stored by Apple under its service rules. WULU cannot access data outside that container and does not keep your backups on its own servers.
8. Your choices and deletion
You can turn analytics and crash collection on or off at any time under Settings → Privacy & Analytics, and withdraw AI image consent under Settings → AI Recognition. After you withdraw, new images are not uploaded automatically, and WULU asks again the next time cloud recognition is needed.
Deleting WULU removes the local app data managed by the operating system. Backups you exported — including those saved in iCloud — are under your control; delete them from where you saved them when needed. AI requests are processed by Alibaba Cloud Model Studio under its own service rules.
9. Children’s privacy
WULU is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information that identifies a child. If you believe there is an issue, please tell us through the in-app feedback entry.
10. Updates and contact
When features or data handling change materially, we will update this page and its effective date. For privacy questions, open Settings → Support & Help → Report an Issue in WULU, or use the feedback entry on the Support page.
